Overview

Travelbox is a mobile-first app designed to deliver convenience and comfort to professionals who temporarily relocate for work.

Thoughtfully curated and customizable subscription boxes provide living essentials and starter supplies to make a temporary rental property feel like home.

Recieveing a shipment with needed essentials gives peace of mind so that relaxing is top priority after long work days.

The Problem

Professionals who temporarily relocate for work can become overwhelmed and stressed trying to settle into their new environment.

The Solution

To design a user-friendly product by offering affordable subscription boxes that deliver essentials to provide convenience and comfort during their short-term stay.

To generate empathy, research was conducted to uncover needs and pain points.

Interviews

Most interview participants work in film production and one in healthcare as a travel nurse. The topics discussed were their relocation experiences, living in short-term rental properties and the challenges faced while away.

Participant input was synthesized by grouping similar responses into clusters. This uncovered common connections between the users.

The Travelbox core values drove the visual identity. Reliable, approachable and friendly are anchors to the brand. A custom logo, icon sets and thoughtful color palette was created.

The unmoderated usability test was conducted on Ballpark and completed by nine people. The design was well-received with a few priority recommendations. The key features tested included:
