Women’s basketball faces consistent disparities in media coverage, sponsorship and recognition compared to the men’s. As this topic gains traction and popularity, so does the demand for a wider variety of dedicated products.
Queens Court leverages the recent growth of women’s basketball with expansive coverage to deepen fan connection and increase media visibility.
Beyond just a content hub, this responsive website is a catalyst for increased visibility, broader audience engagement and overall support for women’s sports.
Research shows a recent surge in the popularity of women’s professional sports. Specifically, the WNBA and NCAA Women’s Basketball. It’s more valuable than ever by reflecting a meteoric rise with record attendance and ratings.
Women’s basketball faces consistent disparities in media coverage, sponsorship and recognition. Many existing platforms prioritize men’s sports, making it difficult to easily find top headlines, news, player analysis, stats and exclusive content. As popularity grows, so does the demand for a wider variety of products dedicated exclusively to women’s sports.
The problem statement is addressed by providing a responsive website dedicated to all-things women’s basketball. Queens Court gives fans ultimate, in-depth coverage for both the NCAA and WNBA. It features latest news, highlights, a player comparisons tool, analysis and much more.
The participants ranged in age from 37–49 (four women and one man). The questions focused on personal connections to women’s sports, reasons for following specific teams and players, and frustrations with limited coverage in mainstream media.
Grouping related observations from the interviews revealed similar answers about women’s sports media, content preferences and pain points. Fans are eager for a platform that offers more than just basic coverage. They want in-depth player analysis, meaningful storytelling and customizable content.
Historically, coverage of women’s sports across media lags behind the men’s. However, research shows a recent surge in the popularity of women’s professional sports, specifically, the WNBA and NCAA Women’s Basketball. There’s a need for broader and deeper coverage of women’s sports.
To capitalize on this unprecedented growth, my project goal is to provide a website tailored to the women’s basketball fan base.
How might we leverage the recent growth of women’s basketball by creating a product that provides expansive coverage, player analysis, engaging content and exclusive highlights to deepen fan connection to the sport?
Through SWOT analysis, data synthesis and to leverage the growing popularity of women’s basketball, a responsive website was designed. Queens Court is a central platform that brings fans expansive coverage, showcases players’ talent and promotes equity in the overall sports landscape.
The casual fan who wants more
Jordan grew up in a sports-loving family and excelled in basketball before an injury shifted her focus to academics. Now a successful project manager, she casually follows the WNBA and NCAA women’s basketball but feels frustrated by the lack of visibility compared to men’s sports. With easier access to women’s coverage, Jordan would likely become a more engaged fan.
Through intuitive navigation and responsive design, Queens Court is solely dedicated to deliver women’s basketball fans a top-notch experience while also reaching a broader audience.
Queens Court features both professional and collegiate female athletes, their achievements and impact on and off the court. By honoring women’s basketball, it contributes towards the growing visibility of women’s sports.
Queens Court raises the profile of women’s basketball with meaningful content placing it front and center. From exclusive headlines to stats analysis – content is designed to elevate the game and cultural impact.
Energetic imagery, bold headlines and vibrant visual sets the tone for the excitement of the sport. By spotlighting players, the community is empowered and inspired.
The Queens Court visual identity blends boldness and elegance which reflects its core values. It hinges on showcasing women’s basketball in a modern and versatile format.

Designing for responsiveness
Creating a product that functions seamlessly across devices challenged me to think about layout flexibility, hierarchy, and mobile-first priorities.
Importance of research
Conducting user interviews gave me a clearer sense of direction and synthesizing participant feedback revealed a key finding.
Designing with constraints
With the project boundaries in mind, I made a point to prioritize what would deliver the most value without overcomplicating the solution.
Visual identity with usability
Designing the brand and logo taught me to consider how visual elements can communicate purpose while still supporting an intuitive product.
